I am on my way to St. Louis airport from where we will be flying out to Jamaica for a week of family vacation at Beaches Negril. January has proven to be a very interesting month. It started off with a wonderful bridal show at St. Mary-of-the-Woods during which we had the opportunity to meet many of Wabash Valley’s brides. It was particularly exciting because we actually sponsored the honeymoon give-away and were able to award the grand prize during the show.
Another highlight of the month is our new intern. Tricia joined our team just on time for the bridal show and she has been working on several projects ever since. One project she is particularly excited about is helping us take our Twitter honeymoongal account to new heights. She is also working on a blog post relating to the current honeymoon trends in the Wabash Valley.
Once back at the office we helped planning numerous exciting trips.
Sarah & Mark are going to Ireland this March. They will be traveling from Dublin to Kilkenny, and then along the West Coast back to Dublin. What I think is particularly wonderful about their trip is the combination of accommodations. Most of the time they will be staying at small B&B’s which will allow them to interact with the locals and experience Irish living at its best. We have also integrated a night at Ashford Castle, one of Ireland’s 5* historic castles, a Leading Hotel of the World, which will be the highlight of their trip. Personally I can’t wait for the two of them to get back and share their experiences and photos.
Jonathan & Britny will be spending their 1st Anniversary at Excellence Riviera Cancun in Mexico this fall. After a wonderful honeymoon in Jamaica last year they were looking for something slightly different this time. If you ask me, there is a good chance that their 1st Anniversary trip will top the actual honeymoon. Not only are they staying at a wonderful resort, but they have also chosen an oceanfront suite in the Excellence’s VIP room category. The VIP hotel section creates a feeling of a smaller hotel within the larger resort. They have a private beach section, private pool and lounge, and the rooms offer additional amenities. They will be enjoying breakfast on their balcony overlooking the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. Not to mention the wonderful Anniversary package the Excellence resort has to offer. They will definitely be in for a treat!
Lindsey & Gary will be going on their honeymoon in September. After taking a cruise along the Mexican Riviera last year they decided to honeymoon in Jamaica. The Iberostar Grand will offer the perfect setting for an unforgettable stay. Marble columns and floors, Moroccan inspired design, Butler and Concierge service, several gourmet restaurants are only a few of the perks that await them. Lindsey has chosen a Peacock feather décor for her wedding and I think the interior design of this hotel will be right along her line. The Iberostar Grand is located in Rose Hall close to Montego Bay. Rose Hall is also home to Rose Hall Great House, former home of the White Witch who is said to still haunt this place. Above the Plantation House towers Ritz Carlton’s White Witch golf course and club house. From there you have stunning views over the coast.
The Miller family will be traveling Jordan and Egypt. Mrs. Miller and her 7 year old daughter will be joining her husband in Amman, Jordan. Since Mr. Miller has been living in Iraq for the last couple of years, he is very “at home” in the area. They will be renting a car, heading South, visiting sites such as Petra and Al Aqaba. After about a week they will be flying to Cairo where they will be exploring the Egyptian Museum and flock around the bazaar. We will be headed to Egypt ourselves in April, and I am really looking forward to hearing back from them.
Brooke & Matt will start their honeymoon early June. They have decided to travel Italy and we have put together a wonderful itinerary for them. They will fly into Venice from where they then travel to Florence. Whilst in Florence they will also visit Tuscany including Siena and San Gimignano (one of my personal favorites). They will taste local wine whilst visiting a vineyard. From Florence they will travel on to Rome. Their Roman hotel is located very close to the Trevi Fountain and I am sure they will be tossing some coins and make a wish while there. The couple will end their honeymoon with a few days of relaxation along the Amalfi Coast. Brooke & Matt are going to have an absolutely marvelous time! We have created a trip that allows them to travel independently without having to worry about anything. They just have to follow the itinerary and show up. A true no brainer.
The Hoang family will be spending a week of their summer vacation at Beaches Turks & Caicos. They will be traveling with their two children and a friend, all of them in their Tweens/Teens. With everything this resort has to offer, the kids are bound to have the time of a life. My guess is that their parents will hardly ever see them which will allow them to romance on their private beachfront terrace located in the brandnew Italian Village, indulge in spa treatments and simply relax.
As you can see, we have been busy. These are just a few of the trips we have planned and we look forward to helping more clients with their travel plans. But for now we are off to Jamaica. Whilst this is mainly a family vacation I am also planning on visiting the Rockhouse Hotel as well as The Caves. These are two boutique luxury hotels located in Negril. I am also planning on taking an excursion into Jamaica’s South incl. climbing the YS Falls and a ride on the Black River. Stay tuned for more!
